Italian Customer Customized Worm Rotor Project Successfully Accepted
In high-end construction machinery and transmission systems, the worm rotor is a critical power transmission component. Its structural accuracy, material properties, and overall stability directly determine equipment operating efficiency and service life.
Recently, Ma’anshan Haitian Heavy Industry Technology Co., Ltd. successfully completed a batch of customized worm rotors for an Italian customer. After undergoing multiple professional inspections, the products passed customer acceptance smoothly and received high recognition.

Customer Background and Project Requirements
The Italian customer has long been serving the European construction machinery and industrial transmission sectors and applies extremely stringent requirements for dimensional accuracy, wear resistance, microstructural stability, and batch consistency of components.
In this project, the customer focused on the following key performance indicators:
* Tooth profile and helix angle accuracy of the worm rotor
* Internal microstructure density of the casting
* Mechanical property stability of critical functional areas
* Consistency and traceability of batch production
Casting Process and Manufacturing Solution
Based on the customer’s operating conditions and technical specifications, Haitian Heavy Industry was involved in structural and process feasibility evaluation at an early stage of the project and developed a targeted manufacturing solution:
Adoption of high-performance alloy cast iron / alloy steel casting solutions (implemented in accordance with the customer’s technical agreement)
Optimized gating and feeding system design to ensure dense internal structure and eliminate shrinkage defects
Strict control of chemical composition and melting parameters to ensure stable material properties
Reasonable machining allowances reserved on critical dimensions, balancing casting quality and subsequent machining accuracy

Full-Process Quality Inspection and Verification
To ensure compliance with European customer standards, the worm rotors underwent multi-dimensional, full-process inspections prior to delivery, including:
* Chemical composition analysis to ensure compliance with technical specifications
* Hardness testing to confirm uniform hardness distribution on critical working surfaces
* Dimensional and geometric tolerance inspection, verifying tooth profile, pitch, and concentricity
* Visual and surface quality inspection, ensuring dense surfaces free from porosity, inclusions, or other defects
* Necessary Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) to verify internal quality stability
All inspection results were documented in complete quality records, fully meeting customer acceptance and traceability requirements.

Customer Acceptance Results and Feedback
During final acceptance, the Italian customer conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the casting quality, machining accuracy, and overall consistency of the worm rotors.
Based on inspection results and on-site assessment:
* All products passed acceptance successfully
* Key performance indicators met or exceeded expectations
* Batch stability and manufacturing capability were highly recognized
The customer stated that this project has laid a solid foundation for long-term cooperation and future batch supply.

Further Technical Optimization and Customized Upgrade
— Plasma Diffusion Worm Rotor Solution Based on Actual Operating Conditions
Following the successful delivery and acceptance of the first batch of worm rotors, Haitian Heavy Industry’s technical team engaged in in-depth technical communication with the customer. A systematic analysis was carried out on the equipment’s actual operating conditions, load characteristics, speed range, and wear mechanisms.
Based on on-site feedback, it was identified that under long-term operation, the worm rotors required higher performance in surface wear resistance, fatigue strength, and dimensional stability. Accordingly, our engineers proactively proposed optimization recommendations focusing on structural refinement and surface strengthening, and developed a customized batch of worm rotors utilizing Plasma Diffusion technology.
Through controlled-atmosphere surface diffusion treatment, alloying elements are uniformly diffused into the surface layer without compromising core toughness, achieving the following benefits:
* Significantly improved surface hardness and wear resistance
* Enhanced resistance to pitting and fatigue
* Stable critical dimensions and tooth profile accuracy
* Extended component service life and reduced maintenance frequency
After process validation and strict production control, this batch of plasma diffusion worm rotors has been successfully manufactured and has entered subsequent testing and application stages, providing more reliable technical support for stable operation under high-load and continuous working conditions.
This phase of cooperation marks an upgrade from single-product delivery to operating-condition-oriented technical collaboration and long-term solution partnership.
